Luxcore Networks, Inc. (Luxcore) is a privately held company which develops, manufactures and markets third generation all-optical switching systems that direct voice, data, and video traffic across core fiber optic networks. Luxcore defines third generation all-optical switching systems as those that eliminate all of the costs and performance issues associated with opto-electrical conversions and electrical regeneration. To achieve this, third generation all-optical networking systems must perform all-optical wavelength conversion as well as integrate the switching of multi-wavelength optical signals with the ability to transport those signals across ultra long-haul networks. Luxcore is delivering the first of this new generation of optical internetworking systems based on the latest photonic switching, wavelength-routing, and DWDM transmission technologies, combined with comprehensive wavelength management software applications.

Luxcore is based in Atlanta and was formed by optical physicists, Internet technologists, system architects and networking engineers from leading equipment manufacturers. Luxcore is a member of the Advanced Technology Development Center (ATDC).

Some may call it an all-optical switch, a transparent optical cross-connect, a wavelength router… the marketplace calls it a first!
