Luxcore Names Richard B. Black Chief Operating Officer
ATLANTA, GA, May 15, 2001
Gerald P. Ramdeen, chairman, chief executive officer and chief technical
officer of Luxcore Networks, Inc., today announced the appointment of
Richard B. Black as chief operating officer of Luxcore Networks.
Mr. Black reports to Mr. Ramdeen and will be responsible for the human
resources, information technology, finance, accounting, legal, and administration
and corporate services divisions of the company, as well as assist with
strategic planning and marketing.

Mr. Black joins Luxcore Networks with more than 30 years of experience
in management and operations. He currently sits on the boards of directors
of more than 15 corporations, has served as president or CEO of four large
multi-divisional public companies, and was chairman, president, and CEO
of Maremont Corporation, AM International, Alusuisse of America, and Oak
Technology. Mr. Black has served as an active board of directors member
of more than 30 companies, 20 of which were technology companies.
Mr. Black holds an MBA from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Science
degree in engineering from Texas A&M University.
