LUXCORE SELECTED AS 2001 HOT START-UP BY TELECOMMUNICATIONS MAGAZINE
Luxcore's All-Optical Solutions Recognized for True Innovation
Atlanta, GA, June 4, 2001 - Gerald P. Ramdeen, chairman and chief
executive officer, Luxcore Networks, Inc., today announced that Luxcore
has been selected by Telecommunications Magazine as a 2001 hot
start-up.
To be chosen as a Telecommunications hot start-up, a company must
either demonstrate technological innovations that improve upon existing
product categories or create and support unique product segments.
"Luxcore's goal is to deliver the world's first truly all-optical
switching and integrated transport products for core regional and long-haul
networks," said Mr. Ramdeen. "Our third-generation technology
defines a new product category - optical wavelength routers - enabled
by Luxcore's photonic wavelength conversion technology that eliminates
the need for intermediate electrical conversions and provides service
independence."
"Choosing our list of annual hot start-ups is always difficult, but
this year we had the rocky economic outlook thrown into the mix,"
said Sue O'Keefe, editor-in-chief of Telecommunications Magazine.
"The sixteen companies we chose all had these characteristics in
common: strong financial backing (and the wisdom to spend it wisely),
proven leadership talent, marketing savvy and a product/architecture concept
with the ability to make a strong impact in the telecom industry."
"We are delighted to be honored by Telecommunications, a respected
technology publication, as a hot start-up," added Mr. Ramdeen. "Telecommunications
has built a reputation as a spotter of significant new technology trends
and leading companies. Its selection of Luxcore as an industry leader
in optical networking highlights Luxcore's innovation and vision."
Luxcore will be honored at Telecommunications annual Supercomm
awards ceremony on Wednesday, June 6th. In addition, Luxcore will be featured
in the June issue of Telecommunications Magazine.
