XR-DOCSIS

The XR-DOCSIS is a next generation multifunction access switch router, which allows operators to integrate TDM telephony and high-speed data services onto a DOCSIS carrier path. The product is a coax-based solution that is designed to interoperate with existing cable modems and Cable Modem Termination Systems (CMTS's). The XR-DOCSIS allows operators, using their cable modem infrastructure, to offer traditional DS1 TDM services to small enterprises in addition to high-speed data services without upgrading their infrastructure. The platform is ideal for small enterprises, SOHO, campus environments, high rises and residential communities.

The XR-DOCSIS is an extension of the Luxcore family of switch router products, offering the ability to extend the technology developed in the Luxcore OXR3200 platform to the HFC coax plant. DOCSIS 1.1 and 2.0 network interface specifications, management, provisioning and security are maintained while providing the user traditional 10/100BASE-TX Ethernet and DS1 TDM services. As show in the diagram below, the XR-DOCSIS completes the access network for servicing business opportunities.
